If you are arriving in France for work and you come from a non EU state then there is a bit more complication to the process.

You must obtain a long stay visa before you arrive in France. When you obtain this visa it is also important to remember that you will also need to contact the consulate and ask questions pertaining to the employment of a foreign national in the country as they will be able to guide you in making sure that all of the requirements are met before issuing the visa.

Most companies are required to obtain the working visa for you, but most will not and since you cannot get a work permit without already having established a guaranteed position, this makes the process a difficult one.

In all reality, to get a job in France when you are not a citizen of the country or of any country in the European Union, is to show that you are more qualified for that position than anyone in Europe while at the same time you can also try to be hired by an international company who has offices in France and get transferred there.
