Self employed builder

I am a 37 year old builder with over 20 years experience in property renovations. I have skills in wiring, plumbing, most joinery, roofing, all plastering, tiling, kitchens, stonework etc. I really want a change and have always wanted to work in rural France. is it hard to find work as an English person or does it just depend on language skills and the quality of your work.
